Quickly working my way up from running food to hosting, and further proving myself as a server, I became a dependable member of the staff. Regularly assisting in maintaining stock, training new employees, and managing closing shifts I was often looked upon as an important asset. Working in the service industry allowed me to sharpen my skills of meeting the needs of a diverse public in a high paced environment. I learned to maintain my organizational skills and time management during my three years at Islamorada Fish Company by having to balance 20+ hours a week working, on top of being a full-time student. I credit this restaurant for my ability to best meet the needs of my patients in an efficient and timely matter, while still making their experience comfortable.

The chance to work with children is always a rewarding experience. I assisted the parents in shaping their children and enjoyed watching how much they learned and grew on a daily basis. The skills I learned while working at Ashley’s Angels daycare have assisted me in working in the clinical setting. While I interacted with infants and toddlers, I learned it is imperative to not only be patient, but to keep a calm composure. Although this demeanor has been helpful when working with pediatrics, being able to stay collected is important in high stress situation that are often seen in trauma and surgery. Having a good understanding of a child’s feelings and mind set assists in soothing the child, as well as the parents through what can seem as frightening and chaotic time. My familiarity with youth allows me to get the best images possible in a timely manner.
