• Administration of federal student financial aid including managing sensitive student information listed on their Free Application for Federal Financial Aid.• Lead the student tax verification process for the entire business unit: Regulatory policy analysis, subject matter expert and staff training.• During Senior Financial Aid Administrator role: Supervision of one Financial Aid Counselor and a team of student workers.• In-person and electronic student counseling on financial aid options that required excellent customer service paired with technical knowledge of federal aid and all associated systems and processes. • Developed expertise in policy and federal regulatory research related to federal financial aid. Research sources included United States Code, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and US Department of Education dear-colleague (policy guidance) letters.

Wow: I loved this job! For four years of evenings, I encouraged data literacy and an understanding of our global economy through introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics courses. In less official terms: I shared my love of economics, human behavior, graphs, data literacy and econ-themed memes with our upcoming generation. The students were amazing, and I gained a multitude of experience in public speaking, creating clear communication and presentations, and teaching best practices.
