As a child, I used to love playing the game "Connect the Dots." It was always so satisfying to see the picture emerge as I connected each dot in the correct sequence. Now, as an expert generalist with 7 years of experience and a Master of Science in Innovation, Human Development and Sustainability, I use that same innate skill to identify patterns and innovative solutions to complex global problems. I see my role as the bridge connecting key stakeholders across sustainability, equitable technology, and future trends. I equally recognize the need to build systems and technologies that keep those disadvantaged and marginalized at the forefront of design thinking. To achieve a more sustainable, equitable future, just like in the game "Connect the Dots," it requires a broader approach and way of thinking to visualize the big picture and disrupt the status quo, especially within hard-to-abate industries. With this entrepreneurial mindset, I’ve worked across multiple sectors, such as artificial intelligence-based smart agriculture, global health, and gender equity research. My background spans from the public sector, serving as a strategic advisor at USAID, to academia, where I led business development and achieved the largest ever grant awarded to my organization ($38 million!), in addition to managing Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded projects. Outside of the 9-5, I’m a practicing generalist, too: I self-published a plant-based cookbook; I run long distance, badly; I mentor incoming graduate students from my alma mater; and I get fascinated by futurist podcasts such as Possible.
