Started my own business as a freelance consultant/contractor mechanical design engineer, est. 2022. Here to help with any/all ME design needs, whether it's to pop into a design review as an extra set of eyes or get involved long-term with any point (or the entire!) design process. I come with my own NX license, various prototyping capabilities (3D printing/3D scanning/CNC/laser cutter/lathe), as well as many ways to measure and validate parts. Involved in designing parts for and launching the Syng Cell Alpha, a revolutionary device that uses beamforming to create immersive and spatial audio. I was focused on the customer-facing outer parts, including the 3D-printed Triphone, sealing systems, transducer integration, and packaging. I have overcome challenges such as mass-producing the 3D-printed Triphone, intricate gasket design, and clear part design for manufacturing. I am proud to have been part of a team that is pushing the boundaries of audio technology and creating a unique product that transforms the way people listen to sound.

Participated in seven projects at Sonos, including Playbase, One, Move, Port, Roam, and others. Owned various types of parts from pre-concepting to MP, including many custom cables, plastic acoustic features, product structural/acoustic enclosures, ME transducer/PCB/antenna integration, cosmetic items, lightpipes, heatsinks, shields, custom connectors, and more. Took over the role of the ME Technical Lead from the first-tooled proto-build onward of Port development, and once again for Roam.Solidified my appreciation for and understanding of designing for mass production, including tolerance analysis work and proper use of GD&T to be able to design and defend my designs with confidence. Worked closely with the Acoustic teams to help develop specialized waveguides, ports, Helmholtz resonators, acoustic cabinets, transducers, tuning features, etc.Involved with UCSB and local high school engineering partnerships including being one of the advisors for the Senior Year Sonos-sponsored Capstone projects and various ME-related talks to both local high school and UCSB classes.

Participated in multiple program teams and several projects, but was dedicated mainly to the Nokia Lumia Icon over 1.5 years which was released to the market in early 2014. Took full mechanical ownership of the OLED display, window glass, window artwork, side keys (aluminum and ceramic), battery, front-facing camera, ALS sensor and earpiece from concepting to release. In other projects took ownership of several flexible PCB’s (HSJ, Side Key, ALS), and a type label tray (overmolded sheet metal part). Focused on display breakage mitigation as well as flash/camera integration behind a single piece of glass (flash-light-bleeding-into-camera issues)
