    Chile
  • Alges
    Research Assistant
    Alges Jun 2024 - Present
Gran Santiago, Región Metropolitana De Santiago, Chile
Research and exploration of a novel methodology for concept drift detection in classification settings, along with the development of an anomaly sample detector for a hyperspectral image classifier deployed in production.
  • Ac3E De La Usm
    Ai Master'S Thesis Student
Ac3E De La Usm Mar 2023 - Present
    Región De Valparaíso, Chile
Researching early fault and model drift detection, complementing the research I'm conducting at the IDS Group (Information and Decision Systems Group) at Universidad de Chile. I have explored collaborations and applications of my thesis with teams at AC3E in biomedical signals and piezoelectric materials monitoring.
  • Universidad De Chile
Graduate Student Researcher At Information And Decision Systems Group
Universidad De Chile Mar 2023 - Present
    Región Metropolitana De Santiago, Chile
Research focused on the connections between Information Theory and Machine Learning. I am currently leading a research line centered on model drift detection using information measures, applying this research to the early detection of system failures, which is the focus of my master's thesis.I have written and co-authored several articles that are currently under review in various journals and conferences. My work has led to the development of five additional projects, where I provide supervision, advice, and collaboration. These efforts have been reflected in both undergraduate and graduate theses, as well as their own articles.
  • Universidad De Chile
    Teaching Assistant
Universidad De Chile Mar 2019 - Dec 2023
    Región Metropolitana De Santiago, Chile
Teaching Assistant for both graduate and undergraduate courses, covering theoretical, applied, and experimental aspects. The experiences I gained in this role include teaching classes to groups ranging from 45 to 200 students, grading and correcting assessments, supervising lab work and coding projects, and designing projects, assignments, and academic activities, among others. The courses in which I have been part of the teaching team include:- Information Theory: Foundations and Applications- Probability and Random Processes- Signals and Systems I- Advanced Calculus- Single Variable Calculus- Experimental Methods
  • Universidad De Chile
Undergraduate Student Researcher At Information And Decision Systems Group
Universidad De Chile Apr 2021 - Feb 2023
    Santiago, Región Metropolitana, Chile
This research group is focused on theoretical and applied problems related to decision-making and estimation in contexts of uncertainty. During my undergraduate studies, I explored various research problems, including battery health monitoring and the usage of information measures to asses states of consciousness in persons based on brain signals.
  • Universidad De Chile
Undergraduate Student Researcher At Robotics Laboratory
Universidad De Chile Jun 2021 - Jul 2022
Santiago, Región Metropolitana De Santiago, Chile
Research focused on Mobile Robotics. I developed a simulation environment, experiment software, and a novel methodology for the multi-agent Active SLAM task using Deep Reinforcement Learning. The development was built on ROS and Gazebo.
  • Advanced Mining Technology Center
    Research And Development Assistant
Advanced Mining Technology Center Aug 2022 - Jan 2023
    Santiago, Chile
I developed a 3D perception system from RGB cameras by applying state-of-the-art techniques in depth estimation and point-cloud processing; this development is part of a prototype for an autonomous rock-breaking robot for the mining industry.
  • Zippedi Inc.
    Robotics Intern
    Zippedi Inc. Jan 2022 - Feb 2022
Part of the Forbes Top 100 Startups in Chile, Zippedi offers Robot-as-a-Service solutions for retail, optimizing processes through AI, Robotics, and Data Science.During my internship, I developed the virtualization of Zippedi's robot from scratch, as well as a generic simulation framework adaptable to stores with arbitrary floor plans. I integrated these components using ROS and Gazebo under open-source standards. This project enabled Zippedi to reduce costs associated with testing new algorithms by eliminating the need to test with real robots and allowing for accelerated and parallel tests, something that is not feasible with physical hardware.
  • Dual Vision
Computer Vision Development And Operations Intern
    Dual Vision Jan 2021 - Feb 2021
Start-up focused on B2B Computer Vision solutions using AI.My work involved operating implemented solutions, including calibration, improvements, and audits, as well as developing a new solution that utilizes security cameras for person detection and the extraction of interaction analytics with their environment and with each other. This solution was successfully piloted for two Dual Vision clients.
  • Universidad De Chile
    Team Member Of Uchile Homebreakers
Universidad De Chile Sep 2018 - Feb 2021
    Santiago, Chile
Student team dedicated to service robotics. I collaborated in developing and operating the robots Bender (created at U. de Chile) and Maqui (SoftBank Robotics' model Pepper). Our main goal was to participate in the international RoboCup@Home competition, which focuses on Human-Robot Interaction.
