Then, I was selected to assist the campaign’s advertising agency in producing and creating a multi-day commercial shoot across Illinois. This involved traveling alongside the video’s producer to scout and plan locations that involved various volunteers. Each volunteer needed to be contacted, vetted, and guided through the day of shoot messaging and logistics. I worked closely with the nightly news production team. I provided detailed play-by-play reports for Chicago’s professional sports teams, such as the White Sox, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks. I also assisted editors with producing segments and live recordings.

During this internship as a sports reporter anchor, I was nominated for the Chicago Television Academy Colleges Awards for Best Sports Package. I also produced three feature sports packages on DePaul athletes: filming, editing, and script writing.

I worked directly with the Senator’s official press team by writing and editing press releases for Illinois grants and initiatives. I also assembled daily communications on the Senator for the entire staff and Senator Durbin.

I traveled with DePaul’s women’s basketball team for two seasons, conducting their play-by-play and color analysis through CBS Sports Radio. Throughout the season, I interviewed the Head Coach and players to provide commentary during each game’s programming. As an official press member, I also traveled with the team to BIG EAST and NCAA tournaments.

As the morning and afternoon news desk intern, I provided detailed notes on news segment rundowns. I also conducted interviews and coordinated b-roll footage for news reporters. My duties also heavily consisted of delivering research and credible news leads for breaking news.
