• Collaboratively builds and effectively articulates a shared vision for UMDF. Manages the effective conversion of that vision into plans which accomplish the desired results within fiscal parameters.
• Identifies and monitors needs, issues, trends and developments in the area of Mitochondrial Disease.
• Provides information, support and resources to volunteer leadership necessary to ensure fulfillment of their fiduciary responsibilities.
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with the donors, chapters, members, volunteers and staff.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships and/or networks with professional organizations, funders/donors, providers, governmental entities, corporations and other voluntary agencies.
• Provides oversight to necessary administration functions to protect the integrity and increase the effectiveness of the organization.

CPAG is comprised of over 140 voluntary patient advocacy agencies representing 19 NIH funded consortia who are active participants in the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN), a program of the Office of Rare Diseases Research at the National Institutes of Health. CPAGs mission is to facilitate the creation of strong collaborative research.
