Design Associate At The Connected Emergency Care Patient Safety Learning Lab At Johns HopkinsMica Center For Social Design Jun 2019 - Apr 2022Baltimore, Maryland, UsIntegrated human-centered design methodologies into research and development of a digital tool to impact physician decision making in the emergency department at Johns Hopkins. Throughout the first leg of our research, I co-facilitated a studio which lead students through the human-centered design process. This studio uplifted key tensions of physicians when making diagnostic decisions for patients with lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs).After the studio, I worked with the core team and physician to spearhead a workgroup which helped to build out the tensions uplifted in the studio. The end goal of the workgroup will couple the learnings from what kind of content physicians would like to see (the studio) and pair it with how physicians become familiar with new tools (Experience Mapping + wire-framing) in order to pragmatically build out a digital tool to test with physicians. -
