"Study hard, and get a good paying job!" This was the advice many of us, including myself, grew up with. So then, what do we do when we are "forced to retire" & there goes our "good-paying job"? It could be due to being tasked with caregivers' duties, being sick, or being met with unfortunate mishaps. But we still need to pay for the bills, food, & daily essentials, no? When it comes to your personal finances, are you lacking clarity in:➡️ what is the amount of insurance coverage I need? ➡️ how much do I need to save up for retirement? ➡️ how can I make my money work harder, so I need no longer work hard for money? ➡️ my investment portfolio doesn't seem to be making profits, what should I do? ➡️ how do I ensure my loved ones can be taken care of, when I am no longer around? 💁♀️ Who am I? I was trained as an Architect, & I became QP in 2016. In 2019, I chose to be a Financial Advisor with Estate Planning Cert. Why the change? Because I was lacking clarity to the 5 questions above. When I started working after graduation, I also started learning about investing. At first, I was pursuing financial freedom and how to get out of rat race. Then in 2009, I was diagnosed with brain stem tumour. After being hospitalised for 7 months, & I couldn't work for 13 months, I learned life's hard truth ->>> having a job doesn't equate to income security. I was in a way, still lucky. I survived those multiple brain operations, but had to take several years getting myself back on track. Having an alternative income stream helps! And since I was now un-insurable, I can only Self-Insure. I wanted to build a sustainable income source that doesn't come from an active job. By end of 2019, the timing felt just right. The stars have aligned, and I saw an opportunity ->>> to get the clarity I need, and since I couldn't get the good advice I wanted, I had to learn on the job, and so, I found myself a path to get into the industry. Over these several years, I realised that many people still lack the clarity that I once suffered from. I decided I can now put my acquired financial knowledge to good use. I can now guide friends & clients make good financial decisions. After-all, we have limited resources at hand. --✅ If my story resonates, let's connect!
