• Leading a capacity-building program with WaterAid’s country programs in order to build advocacy and campaigning capacity across the organisation. (This includes the capacity to develop advocacy strategies with strong policy objectives, and political- and power-analysis, and strategies to influence change; delivering research; policy, popular and digital campaigning through training and close accompaniment; increasing the variety of tools the organization uses to influence change.)• Delivering capacity-building work in specific countries and regions, (particularly the capacity to campaign), and spending time with Country Programmes so as to accompany them in their campaign work or to fill national resource gaps• Working with communities of advocacy-practice within WaterAid, and with academics and other relevant groups within country programmes, and between countries and regions; working with HR to improve our recruitment and retention of strong advocates • Co-ordinating cross-organisational teams, (including the Campaigns Group working on WaterAids ‘Global Advocacy Priority’), and working in WaterAid’s country, regional and member offices to design and deliver campaigns with specific policy objectives targeting developing country governments, and regional and continental institutions• Giving strategic support to WaterAid’s Country Programmes with key national civil society allies and networks in the water and sanitation sector, (and in particular outside the sector), and to maintain regular communication and initiate partnerships with these networks at an international level• Develop monitoring and evaluation systems that allow us to learn from our campaigns work• Working with fundraising teams and supporting the development of fundraising proposals for campaigning work

• Initiating, directing, managing and implementing research, projects, campaigns, and advocacy work in order to realize the organization’s vision.• Establishing policies, procedures and guidelines for all programs whilst ensuring compliance with all government regulations• Monitoring and evaluating programs and providing feedback as needed• Communicating policy and information to staff• Overall office supervision and management• Apprising board members of program and project status• Editing a weekly newsletter and contributing to the production of newsletter articles and other promotional materials• Recruiting, hiring and providing training and supervision of employees and volunteers• Building and maintaining positive relationships with partner organizations and community members• Provide leadership and ensure effective functioning of all the networks that CEN was holding secretariat of (Climate Change Network Nepal, Clean Air Network Nepal, Nepalese Youth For Climate Action, Climate Action Network South Asia)• Exploring and initiating new avenues for fundraising and writing proposals and reports accordingly

• To effectively develop and implement Practical Action’s campaigning work in order to bring about policy change in the interests of the poor in the developing world• To write and produce appropriate materials to support campaigns • To manage external agencies, writers and sub-contractors to deliver specific items for the campaigns• To give presentations and public speeches on behalf of Practical Action• To represent Practical Action at partnership bodies and develop close working relationships with other potential partners• To work with policy colleagues to ensure that the campaigns were effectively promoted within the UK and European Parliaments and that appropriate opportunities to influence political agendas were taken• To work with the Press Officer to ensure that campaigns were effectively promoted within the UK media • To develop the electronic campaigning strategy and to work with the Website Editor • Developing and contributing to the implementation of Parliamentary strategy.• Co-coordinating Practical Action’s presence at party conferences and any joint agency work around election time
