Stuart has been involved in the field of e-Business, Software and Data (Commercial, Sales, Marketing, Technical, Research, Standards and Voluntary Organisations) since 1989. Stuart has held notable positions in large and SME organisations, commercial and non-profit. Including: ICL (now Fujitsu) as eBusiness Manager, eBusiness/EDI Workshop manager in the EDIFACT Board (within the European Commission and the European Standards Institute (CEN)), and SME eBusiness consultancy and solutions providers CMASS/Riverland/Vintura and as CTO of listed company TIE Kinetix which is a Total Integrated eCommerce provider. He was appointed as inaugral Secretary General of the European Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and now runs his own company Information Catalyst (ICE)Within these organizations Stuart has been involved in executive management, operations management, sales, marketing, standards, technology, development, group facilitation, dissemination, research and business/technical consultancy. Stuart has produced several papers and regularly presents at technical and business conferences. He has been involved in the CEN interoperability forum, the eBES board for eBusiness standards, representative for the NESSI Steering Committee (The European Technology Platform for Software and Services) where he has acted as vice-chair/ lead SME activity, and as Secretary General of the BDVA.. As Technology Visionaire and Director he is responsible for defining strategy, tactical planning, operational delivery and portraying technical direction and products including Research, Development and Innovation (RDI). As Secretary General of the BDVA he was responsible for its the running of the organisation.He has been involved in / acquired / coordinated multiple RDI projects in EU FP6/7/H2020 including SEEMseed, SEAMLESS, STASIS NEXOF-RA, SOA4ALL, NESSI2010, Adventure, Premanus, ARUM, Intuitel, Simpli-city, CREATE, OPDM, ALFRED, SAM, Singularity, CREMA and ACCEPT projects.
