Jointly serves as primary network and server administrator for the College of Agriculture. Complete tasks relating to testing and deploying technologies resulting from work assignments requested within the College of Agriculture which includes Extension personnel, Section, Departmental and other College personnel. Assist with security risks or concerns.Serve as backup for systems college servers including assisting with SQL server administration and support. Serve in liaison role to college personnel regarding various information technology issues, e.g. provide input for support recommendations, troubleshooting problems and addressing security issues.Work closely with the primary MAC XServe administrator to provide backup support. Also work closely with New Technologies Director to assist in the testing and implementation of new technologies evaluatedand deployed using MAC and Windows Operating SystemsProvide input for ways the section may improve products and services. Display positive attitude when working with all clientele both within and outside the unit. Demonstrate the willingness to help the CIT team in whatever capacity as needed/directed. As we go forward as a Section and Unit to provide the highest level of service possible, there will most likely be times when we will be asked to provide service in a new or different way. This is one of the most important aspects of continuing to provide the level of service our clientele have come to expect.Assist clients and users served by the College of Agriculture Computing Data Center and Agricultural Communications with ensuring the security of university computing resources and educating them on secure computing practices. Stay current on computer security issues/trends, develop security plans, and assist clients and users served by the College of Agriculture Computing Data Center and Agricultural Communications with managing University computing resources securely.
