Digital entertainment legal specialist.I am an experienced screen industry lawyer with 20 years experience working in entertainment. I am particularly skilled in video game development and publishing. I have previously worked as a feature film production lawyer, and as in-house legal counsel and business affairs adviser for a large TV production/ talent company.In 2012 I founded Cam Rogers Legal, which has a particular focus on transactional matters in digital entertainment and technology. As a part of my practice I act for game developers, film producers and software developers based all over Australia. I have worked on over 100 shipped videogame titles on many platforms, including PS5, Xbox, Steam, Switch and on the VR and mobile platforms, and have acted as executive producer on films that have appeared at SXSW, MIFF and other major film festivals. I can assist at any stage of project development, from conception all all the way to distribution, merchandising and beyond. I am experienced in licensing original IP into various formats including games, films, television, toys, collectibles, apparel and other merchandise. I have also advised some of the worlds biggest gaming influencers in podcast and exclusivity deals involving partners such as Spotify USA, Spotify UK, Stitcher, Audible, and Twitch.I am interested in media distribution, and cool ideas that maximise the potential of emerging technology and content platforms. I like working with creators of original IP, and applying the lessons I’ve learned in 20 + years by adapting them to the rapidly changing media landscape.
