Manager Of Application Experience
– Lead company direction in product design, UI and UX– Design user interfaces for web, iOS, Android– Ensure consistent, high quality, user experience across the product and company– Lead team in charge of implementing interfaces and experienceDuring my time as Manager of Application Experience, I spearheaded a change in product design. We moved from our Trip Creation requiring a user to know the 5Ws (who, what, where, why, when) and how to orchestrate the drivers to a destination and task model. I designed interfaces and programmed the algorithms that made it possible for a user to only know where tasks needed to be completed and what the tasks were – and our system would spit out a nominal number of unique itineraries for drivers to accept or reject. Not only did this system make entry easier for users, it allowed more complex tasks to be chained together. On the driver side, I designed a modular, Action Sheet, approach allowing trips to be rearranged, tasks to be easily appended and even customization for future tasks or integrations with other companies/services.I was also in charge of our design change from dark, barren designs to a more modern design based on our users needs. The designs needed to accommodate users who were older, and less tech savvy. As such, the designs needed lots of affordances incorporated to drive the user's experience through the steps needed to complete a job. Starting with buttons that look like buttons, textual descriptions instead of glyphs only, all the way through to the linear nature of our Action Sheets. We saw a marked decrease in the amount of training a driver needed before starting their first trip. Many drivers were able to register, get approved and drive with 0 engagement from our company.
