Provide leadership and expertise for a statewide trade association representing the public policy interests of California's winegrape growers. Responsible for government affairs, program/sponsorship development and fundraising. Develop relationships with policy makers to pass legislation and develop regulations that are favorable to winegrape growing industry (e.g., passage of Pierce's Disease/Glassy-winged Sharp Shooter referendum renewal, flexible compliance schedules for agriculture vehicles in diesel rules, etc.).Coordinate lobbying and special legislative events. Interact with contract lobbyists to coordinate government affairs efforts. Track legislative bills, draft position letters and provide testimony.Work with growers and other regional associations to coordinate special legislative and regulatory workshops and educational events.Serve as an Agricultural Coalition member to represent winegrape growers perspectives as they relate to specific issues including air quality, water quality, land management, taxation and pesticide use/regulation.
