Can Kaya, as Yıldız Technical University alumni, holds a Computer Science and Engineering degree.Upon graduation, he worked for cine 5, Turkey’s first subscription-based TV channel, under the IT (Information Technology) department as a software developer. He then joined Disbank’s IT unit as a software developer. He gained expertise in Oracle Forms/Reports and developed the cash management system. He was soon promoted as the Data Warehouse and Data Modelling Vice President. He worked for the Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications project (OFSAA), aiming to lead to better financial risk management analysis by the means of data modelling, utilizing Oracle Warehouse ETL tool.Can started working for Fortis, a leading bank in Benelux, as the Data Warehouse Vice President in 2007. He worked for the inhouse development of the Campaign Management System and ETL Scheduling System. He led the Profitability Project as well as designed the Product Hierarchy and Organization Hierarchy Project. He administrated the Oracle Discoverer tool. He was responsible for the management of the entire data model of the FORTIS Bank Turkey core systems. He has reworded the “Act As One” and “Team” award for his outstanding efforts.He is currently working for the ING Bank, Turkey as the Data Warehouse Vice President. He had the opportunity to engage with the ING on a global scale as the ING Global Data Lake Design Authority Member. He was responsible for ensuring the international Data Warehouse development standards to be fallowed locally. On top of this, he also initiated and led the Enterprise Data Warehouse Project which is under the IBM-BDW model. His responsibilities included managing the regulatory reporting system of the entire bank.As a leading expert in Data Warehousing systems, Can have been actively taking place in the industry for more than 20 years. Throughout his career, he always stood out as an engaged, responsible and principled employee. He is a great leader who guides his co-workers to excel in their careers. He identifies as a respected and appreciated team-worker. Besides his professional identity, he is a licensed sailor, currently a member of the ING sailing team. He is also skilled in playing the alto saxophone.
