Laura is a strong transactional attorney and fierce advocate. Currently, she handles matters in the areas of real estate, corporate transactions, franchising, and business start ups. Before founding Canada Lewis & Associates, Laura worked for local small and medium-sized law firms where she handled both litigation and transactional matters for her clients with outstanding results. She also had the opportunity to work in the Office of General Counsel for a franchisor and owner of multiple restaurant concepts located throughout the U.S., Canada, and France. She developed experience navigating the heavily regulated industries of franchising, as well as FDA and FTC compliance. In supporting the operations, real estate, and construction departments, Laura drafted and aggressively negotiated favorable contract terms and developed policies to reduce liability and risk exposure in the field. Her focus there and now is litigation, real estate, franchising, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and due diligence support.
