I am a full-stack developer with a background in computational astrophysicist and a passion for design, problem-solving, and teamwork. My background in astrophysics introduced me to the art of programming, and I have really found a passion for it. Specifically, I like to design & develop websites that are accessible, responsive, scalable, and efficient. For front-end development, I am well equipped with the big three (HTML5, CSS3, and JS), and I also work with SCSS (including advanced topics such as animations, transitions, the use of pseudo-classes, and cross-platform compatibility) with personal projects. Additionally, I have expertise in React including React Router, Redux/Redux Toolkit, React Testing Library, Cypress, Yup Validation, Styled Components, building custom Hooks, and Context API. I am also knowledgeable with Bootstrap and MaterialUI frameworks, however, I prefer to build my own components to provide maximum customization.For back-end development, I have experience building web servers and RESTful APIs with Flask, Django, and Node.js. I have experience in building middleware, API tests with SuperTest, hashing for storage of sensitive data such as passwords, Express routing, user authentication and authorization using Express sessions or JSON Web Tokens (JWT), and linking a client-side application with a server language using a proxy. I am also familiar with PHP, though mostly in the context of building WordPress custom themes or customizing an already existing theme.For database management systems (DBMS) I know how to use SQL commands to create, read, update, or delete data entries from tables. I also know how to use foreign keys to establish relationships with other tables within a database. I have experience in the various join commands and understand the pros and cons of each. I also know how all this translate into Knex.js, but also MongoDB, MongoPy, and MongoAtlas. I also know how to build web scrapers that gather data from the world wide web such as capturing the latest updates from a website, and automating tasks such as tweeting, or playing an online game.
