It was an honor to serve Snohomish students, families, and staff on the Snohomish School District Board of Directors. During my tenure I was committed to equity, safety, transparency, fiscal accountability, and academic excellence. As a district director I collaborated with the 4 other directors and district administration to set the vision and goals for a district of 10,000 students, adopt policies that give the district direction to set priorities and achieve goals, hire and evaluate the superintendent of schools, adopt and oversee annual operating budget, and direct the collective bargaining process for employees of the district.I joined the board to give back to the community that provided me my educational foundation and put students first in all policy and budget decisions that come before the Board.

As Senior Director at Medscape, I led development of all US and global hematology/oncology accredited medical education. My main responsibilities included managing all US- and European-based Medical Education Directors and Medical Writers in the Hematology/Oncology Content Development Department, utilizing therapeutic expertise and understanding of adult learning principles to develop continuing education curricula in accordance with accrediting standards, establishing relationships with thought-leaders, developing standard operating procedures, implementing staff training, working with executive leadership (US and international) to meet revenue goals, and maintaining departmental budgets.My scientific acumen in hematology/oncology therapeutic areas was also leveraged in cross-department collaborations with sales, clinical strategy, grants, outcomes, and product development. The motivation for my work comes from the ability to positively impact care of patients around the world, and I am extremely proud of the education I developed during my tenure at Medscape that benefitted thousands of healthcare providers around the world.

As Senior Medical Education Strategic Director, I led the live division of the Medscape Center of Expertise, partnering with leadership across the organization to develop new educational product offerings, standardized procedures, and staff training.Key successes in this role included:• Evaluation and integration of educational product offerings from acquired companies and development of processes, documentation, timelines, training, and overall execution strategy in compliance with accrediting and quality standards• At the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, quickly transitioned live in-person offerings to live-streaming through novel platforms in collaboration with leadership in both the live business and education units, implemented new procedures, and trained staffIn addition to my Center of Expertise duties, I maintained therapeutic expertise, executing high-quality accredited medical education in accordance with best practices.

As Scientific Director, I acquired and maintained therapeutic expertise. This expertise was then combined with knowledge of adult learning principals to develop content and outcomes assessments for high-quality, well-balanced accredited continuing education programs targeted at physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. In addition to content development, I collaborated with multiple departments across the organization providing therapeutic expertise for clinical strategy, grants, and outcomes. I have developed hundreds of programs in nearly all areas of hematology/oncology, COVID-19, HIV/AIDs (in collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), meningococcal disease, influenza, human papilloma virus (HPV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), infectious disease diagnostics, neurofibromatosis type 1, and rheumatology. Originally, Medscape was one of my clients. I joined them as staff after experiencing the quality and reach of their content which provided me the ability to impact care of patients throughout the world.

As Director of the Scientific Services Department at ECG, I oversaw development of all accredited continuing medical education (CME) curricula. My group ensured the utilization of best practice models to meet and reduce identified practice gaps. We employed adult learning principles, experiential learning, accepted instructional design models, and scientifically precise content appropriate for the target audience and constructed in accordance with policies and guidelines from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). To do this, I obtained therapeutic expertise through research and collaboration with academic experts. We generated generated fair and balanced scientific content in live and online formats, collaborated with and trained national and international faculty, and built outcomes measures that predisposed and reinforced key educational points in order to provide metrics of educational impact. In this role, I managed staff, contract writers, and departmental budgets, and interpreted and reported educational results for internal and external stakeholders, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed journals.

Create and execute independent scientifically sound hematology and oncology continuing professional development programs and materials in a variety of formats (both live and e-learning) in accordance with ACCME, ACPE, and ANCC guidelines; develop outcomes assessments and interpret results, identify and train faculty, research and define clinical needs and practice gaps, optimize programming, write needs assessments, grants, newsletters, monographs, and clinical modules, strategically plan novel curricula and educational formats, communicate outcomes to grantors and faculty, and publish key finding.

Develop continuing medical education programs in specialized areas of medical oncology for a primary audience of physicians, pharmacists and nurses; research, write and edit scientific communications including monographs, newsletters, abstracts, and articles; develop and analyze educational outcomes; and innovate novel educational strategies and formats.
