Candace Edgerley taught surface design/dye classes at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC for twelve years and currently teaches at The Art League, Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA. As a studio artist, she designs fiber wall art and one of a kind wearables and accessories under the “Ginkgo Designs by Candace” label. Edgerley specializes in Shibori hand dyed silk and cotton. She exhibits and sells her work at Fiberworks Studio at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria. She has exhibited in Augsburg, Germany; Cheong-ju City, Korea; Lyon, France; Arimatsu, Japan; Hangzhou, China; the Corcoran Gallery of Art and other national venues. Candace has a degree in Business from Northern Illinois University and further studies at the Corcoran College of Art + Design. She joined the Surface Design Association Board as Director of Membership in 2004, served as Vice President from 2007 to 2009, and President from 2009 to 2012. She lives in Alexandria, VA with artist husband Mel Edgerley.
