I have worked in education for 19 years and have taught all Language Arts in all three grade levels of middle school. I've also worked as an Instructional Coach in my school. I enjoy trying to find new ways to interest students in Language Arts and Reading. I love introducing them to interesting short stories and dystopian novels, and engaging in thoughtful discussions about text. In my time as a teacher, I've coordinated a number of field trip experiences for my students. One of the most memorable is our trips to Washington D.C. Along with teaching, organizing, and planning fieldtrips, I've also been a team leader for a number of years, as well as the co-chair several school-based committees. Additionally, I've previously held the position of ELA Department Head. I am very self-motivated and detail-oriented when working on projects. I have high standards for myself and for other around me.
