- Provide guidance and safety evaluations of Ethicon products per internal procedures and global standards and regulations- Serve as lead toxicologist to provide consultation for new project developments and current marketed devices. - Oversee and direct internal and external toxicology and biocompatibility evaluations including study design, protocol generation, and analysis for JNJ Ethicon medical device materials and products - Support and collaborate with teams in Research & Development, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Supplier Management

- Analyze test results for chemical characterization, biocompatibility, and toxicology for all materials and products- Author risk assessment reports to support product for registration- Evaluate material and product safety for medical devices as per ISO 10993 and FDA requirements- Ensuring that testing meets all international & domestic test requirements according to ISO (International Organization for Standardization), FDA (Food & Drug Administration)-CDRH (Center for Devices & Radiological Health) & GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) law- Determine gaps in both testing and safety supporting information and traceability of product testing to existing product on the market

My thesis research focused on nanoparticle (<100nm) biodistribution in the body, particularly in the context of better understanding the target tissues and retained doses of ambient ultrafine particulate matter from air pollution. These findings can build on the growing literature on nanoparticle dosimetry and aid in better understanding the association of ambient ultrafine particulate exposures with adverse effects in the central nervous system. This research work was funded by ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, where my responsibilities as Principal Investigator involved designing and managing scientific studies, creating and managing the project budget, and presenting the results at national and international conferences.

My fellowship project involved critically assessing changes to reference values and background-exposure levels for heavy metals of concern in the human diet such as lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium, and chromium. I created a tool used to conduct rapid risk assessments of heavy metals in food ingredients and products (Heavy Metal Screening Tool) as a joint collaboration with the Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN) based on my findings from the fellowship.

My responsibilities included experimental design, execution, and data analysis on two projects: “Stability and Antimicrobial Activity of Haloduracin, a Promising Lantibiotic Against Bacterial Infection”and "Production and Characterization of Novel Lanthibiotics from Escherichia coli".

Received a Bachelor's Degree of Science (BS) with highest distinction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Molecular and Cellular Biology.

I assisted the Surface Chemistry regulatory affairs team in the transition into the new global OneSAP system. Responsibilities included analyzing, organizing, and inputting toxicological data while also determining end points and new key phrases for use in the new system.

I worked in collaboration with Professor Michael Miller on a project pertaining to the stability and antimicrobial activity of lantipeptides in queso fresco cheese.

My responsibilities included organizing files, creating subpoenas, and handling sensitive information regarding traffic court and domestic violence.
