The Community Support Worker is the primary employee responsible for supporting Department of Behavioral Health Consumer’s to obtain resources and skills needed to function at optimal capacity and life satisfaction while living with a mental disorder. The CSW works close with therapists and psychiatrists to coordinate care to meet client goals. For Department of Mental Health referrals, the CSW position receives the initial referral and provides the initial intake.

I served as the Meetings Coordinator for the National Council of State Housing Agencies. I worked side-by-side with the Director of Meetings to plan and implement the logistics for 7-8 distinctive conferences annually. These meetings varied in size, format and type of audience. My duties consisted of, but were not limited to, setting and adhering to a strict budget, developing RFPs and negotiating with a variety of vendors, including Audio-Visual, proofreading marketing materials, planning food and beverage menus, assigning staff their meeting duties and overseeing the execution of sessions, meals and receptions while on-site.

This position involved a wide range of tasks, including communicating with attendees, managing hotel room blocks and utilizing data from past events to accurately plan the logistics of future events. In this and past positions I have utilized database management software such as Delphi and Salesforce to track meeting logistics.

This position required me to reach out to find ideal candidates for employment. I would search various resume websites and sift through the many resumes and applications we received. I conducted initial phone calls and meetings to assess if an applicant fit what we were looking for. The ability to communicate, listen and understand people was extremely crucial to this position.
