Candace is the development lead for Pivot Project overseeing all aspects from project underwriting and budgeting, due diligence, design and construction management, and lease up. In addition, she is a strong advocate and resource for our tenants.

Candace brings an international perspective to the design department stemming from her experience in architecture, lighting design, and interior design. Her intuitive organizational skills and ability to make creative connections allows her to span multiple roles. As a designer, she emphasizes the personal experience of architecture and how the experience of the building begins with the approach. As a lighting designer, her focus is equally on energy efficiency as it is creating an atmosphere through light. In a project captain role, she is able to discern an overall pattern from complexity enabling her to develop a clear path towards project completion. In addition, Candace contributes to ADG’s communications, business development, and client relationship efforts.

• Coordinating editor for an upcoming technical guide titled Guide to Natural Ventilation in High Rise Office Buildings. Additionally conducted research on building specific technologies and generated written content aimed at both industry professionals and the general public. • Instrumental to the publications team meeting an aggressive publishing deadline.

• Assisted in development of marketing plan to reach new market segment for upcoming exhibition Out in Chicago.• Spearheaded new tactics for monitoring media including creating new standard operating procedures and organization. Wrote media calendars of events and monitor media alerts. • Applied graphic design support by designing marketing materials including invitations, posters and flat-screen promotion.• Researched competing museum gift shops to better position the retail offerings within the Chicago market.

• Consistent top seller contributing to a top sales team. The top selling store was ranked #1 in the company for 2010.• Generated repeat business due to client relations.• With a background in lighting design and retail architecture, promoted to Visual Supervisor. Under direct guidance, the store received consistent positive feedback from the corporate visual department.

• Secured $20K in advertising donations from the CTA in a copromotional campaign.• Developed and managed an educator's survey to gain a perspective from museum visitor's past experiences. Compiled and analyzed the data in order for the museum to knowledgeably move forward with the renovation and grand opening in the Fall 2010.

• Independently developed construction details for the pavilions at the base of the largest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.• Team member for a 118-story tower in Dubai. The project was a mixed-use building including office, residential, hotel, and retail.

• By providing inspiration and insight into the world of architecture, guided 30 first-year Architecture students in the development of a research paper and a compelling presentation on a building in Chicago.

• Only graduate student selected for this highly desirable internship from several hundred applicants nationwide.• Collaborating with the other interns, planned and organized a firm-wide symposium aimed to discuss the individual research projects done by each intern. The event focused on intimate discussions with each intern rather than a lecture format which led to a 20% increase in attendance from past intern events.

• At one of the top 50 retail design firms (ranked by VM+SD), developed and produced presentations, drawings, and schedules for 6 major retail brands in numerous locations throughout the US and UK.• While not currently being utilized, promoted and implemented the use of 3D software for branding proposals.

• As an Associate Designer, managed 12 projects in the following market sectors: Hospitality, Entertainment, Civic, and Residential. • While managing as many as 8 projects simultaneously, supervised two other designer’s contribution to the projects such as preparing graphic and technical presentations and producing required documents and drawings.• Prepared cost analysis including unit costs, energy costs and life-cycle costs that met the program requirements and provided alternatives to the owner/developer.
