Worked my way up from a substitute teacher for the entire South Bend Community School Corporation to a permanent building substitute for Kennedy Academy and then to music teacher for two years for up to 700+ students to a Kindergarten teacher. Worked with many different ages and learning abilities and styles. Formed and maintained good working relationships with parents who may have had questions or concerns about their child’s education. Worked and maintained good relationships with the staff of more than 40 people, especially important in planning concerts and performances for the school community. Organized, detail-oriented planning necessary to be successful in managing a class of 25 - 56 students during a class period. Ability to think on my feet and change course of action in an instant if a lesson wasn’t working out or circumstances led us in a different direction. Worked on a weekly basis maintaining a database for Island Landscape, LLC based in Wildwood, NJ. Also worked on school newsletter editions for Kidder and Company based in Elkhart, IN as a writer and editor.
