No matter what I do, my work seems to always involve sharing, mentoring, supporting, and listening intently to clients. From my experience as a business owner, I was client-focused and enjoyed building networking relationships while maintaining a reputation as an award-winning business. Through this work, I gained experience working one on one and in small groups for sales presentations with a diverse clientele. Working in business coaching and undergraduate psychology tutoring helped refine my active listening and mentoring skills. My work led to addressing people's challenges that can block their well-being, health, and success. My current focus in clinical mental health counseling is exciting, demanding, and a natural extension of my client-focused approach to working with others. The decision to study a trauma-focused counseling track came from learning about how trauma, such as childhood trauma, can affect people in various ways throughout their life. I look forward to my mental health counseling licensure and working with people who want support and help on their journey to better mental health.
