Candice Boyd has been with T-Mobile for over 25 years and currently manages a team of exceptional engineers, program managers and production staff for Tech Experience. Candice is based out of the Tech Experience Center located at T-Mobile’s National Lab Facility. Candice started her career at T-Mobile by launching the first GSM market in Hawaii, the first commercial PCS launch in the U.S. In 1998, she was in charge of the radio network design to launch the Seattle Market and then moved to a more regional role before moving to a national technology role for Radio Network Planning overseeing the nationwide UMTS and LTE launches from headquarters. Having seen T-Mobile evolve from Western Wireless to T-Mobile, changing the wireless industry, Candice is passionate about evangelizing T-Mobile’s story and technical leadership. She moved to Tech Experience in 2019. Candice loves to spend her time connecting with people of all backgrounds to celebrate diversity. She has an international background having lived in Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines and attended international schools before attending University in Virginia. She also has her certificate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Yale University. As a people leader, she loves helping people grow in their careers and has promoted many engineers who have gone into principal and management roles. She currently mentors students from the University of Washington’s Global Innovation Exchange, Master’s in Innovation program. The students develop capstone projects utilizing T-Mobile’s network for good. Some past projects include: Augmented Reality for way finding and search & rescue drones. The themes around the projects are always looking for ways to use T-Mobile’s network for good. Candice is also very active in her local community. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of Ignite Worldwide https://www.igniteworldwide.org and as the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the Bridle Trails Park Foundation https://www.bridletrails.org/about. Candice also volunteers for the Lake Washington Saddle Club and the International Community School.
