Tasked with reading and understanding blueprints in order to make car repair directions in compliance with FRA & AAR rules and repair records. Performed regulated routine maintenance and emergency repairs on railcars servicing a local industrial district and brought them into compliance with Rule 40 regulations.

Was in charge of the 0800-1200 and 2000-2400 navigational and cargo watches of the M/V Midnight Sun. While the ship was underway I ensured that the vessel stayed clear of all concerning traffic and navigational hazards as well as following the passage plan as laid out by the Captain and Second Mate. While the ship was in port I was involved in cargo operations with the loading and discharging of cargo. I was responsible for monitoring the cargo, ballast systems, and mooring lines during cargo operations to ensure a safe and timely turn-around time. Was also tasked with maintaining and inspecting all safety equipment aboard the vessel as well as anchoring and mooring duties.
