From a very young age, I always knew I wanted to help people. After completing high school, I saw hospitality as a career path that would allow me the opportunity to be of service to people from all walks of life; hence my decision to pursue an undergraduate degree in International Tourism Management. My academic foundation in Tourism and Hospitality has ingrained within me the importance of being kind, attentive, empathetic and always striving to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to meet and exceed the expectations of clients and guests. However, as I began adding work experience under my belt, I began to realize that in order to effectively and genuinely meet and exceed the needs of the business's external customer that it was also imperative to consider the needs of the business's internal customer i.e. the employee. This realization lead me to pursue my master's degree in Human Resource Management where I learn’t that employees should be considered a business’s greatest resource since no business can thrive without its foundation and blood; it’s human element - its people. Employees provide the hands that do the work and the minds that generate the ideas for the business thus, it is crucial to look after the needs of people within the business to ensure that they are engaged and motivated to perform at their best. It is my hope in the near future that I can transition into the field of Human Resource Managment and put my theoretical knowledge to practical use in order to meet the best interest of the business along with the best interests of employees. On a personal level, I love God, his word is the foundation that my life is built on. I love all animals but there’s a special place in my heart for dogs. My husband and I are proud owners of two poodles; Ollie a toy and Nala; a miniature. I also love nature and the outdoors.
