ProfessionalI believe that every person hired has the potential to be an asset to the team. The trick as an HR manager is unlocking that potential with a happy, healthy, and diverse working environment that encourages new ideas and experimentation. I use my vast experience of working with people from all lifestyles to assist the managers of each department in unlocking the potential of each employee. My management style is to “get my hands dirty” with the team. I will jump in and help in any and every capacity to make sure that no one feels that they are stranded alone on their work journey. During my time at Luisa Graff Jewelers, I have earned my SHRM-CP certification, grown an open culture where the staff knows I will advocate for them while aligning expectations with the business strategy and needs. My staff knows that the more successful we are as a whole, more success each individual will have. By restructuring some of the workflow processes, I have created efficient ways to complete each position faster and with higher accuracy allowing more time to focus on the guests that we are here to serve. The transition from cosmetologist to human resources may not seem like a logical jump. I was lucky enough that Luisa saw my potential in the connections I was able to make with people and the way I ran my business. She offered me a position and gave me the opportunity to grow into a field where I could thrive in a totally new direction. I strive to pay that optimism forward by seeing the potential of each candidate and how they can help grow our business. I love to learn new things and continue to grow as a person.PersonalI am a Colorado native. I am married with 2 teenagers, a dog, and somehow we ended up with 3 cats. I graduated high school one year early because I was driven to get my life started. I went to TIGI beauty school and was a licensed cosmetologist at 18. I loved working in the beauty industry. It gave me a broad view of the world and different types of people and cultures. Working in a military town meant that I got to meet so many amazing people from all over the world. Learning about different cultures, traditions, and expectations that come along with it has broadened my horizons to be able to understand people on a level much deeper than the surface.
