In December 2013, I was asked to transition from Ceridian to Comdata, a related company, to create and run its stand-alone ethics program in anticipation of an IPO. In this role, I was responsible for drafting the company's Code of Business Conduct and overseeing all aspects of Comdata’s operations to ensure that they were compliant with this Code, other corporate policies, and law. I also created and led training programs and managed internal investigations.

I served as in-house legal counsel for Ceridian, including certain of its subsidiaries and divisions. My primary responsibilities involved working with our customers and internal sales personnel to successfully negotiate, paper, and conclude sales initiatives. In November 2012, I also assumed the role of Chief Ethics Officer, making me responsible for overseeing all aspects of Ceridian’s operations to ensure that they were consistent with our Code of Conduct. I created training programs to familiarize employees with the company’s ethical goals and guide them in making the right decisions where ethics were concerned. I also investigated reports of unethical activity.

During my time at Counsel On Call, I helped to create an expanding market of opportunities for attorneys who wished to practice law in non-traditional ways. As the Executive Director of the company's home office, I was primarily responsible for originating new business opportunities, while managing and advancing existing client relationships (including a number of the company's largest national accounts, most of which involved comprehensive e-discovery solutions). I also managed daily corporate operations in Nashville and supervised a staff of three full-time employees and a fluctuating workforce of between 30 to 200+ contract attorneys and paralegals. In August 2009, I was asked to simultaneously assume the role of Vice President of Candidate Recruitment and Placement. I trained and managed all corporate employees (across five offices nationwide) who worked with and counseled lawyers and paralegals as they explored alternative career paths. I developed objective and subjective measures for employee performance, designed and led new employee orientation, and cultivated and tracked employees’ professional development.
