Currently a third-year elementary school principal, Candra is an advocate for transformational leadership change which fosters academic excellence. She is also an education specialist who has taught various subjects to middle school students over the past 25 years. In addition to a multiple-subjects teaching credential, she holds a specialized credential in special education as well as a clear administrative services credential. In 2006, she earned her Master’s degree from California State University, San Bernardino in education. She served as the facilitator of a leadership program for young ladies for the past 11 years. The Emerging Young Leaders (EYL) program develops skills and talents of middle school girls who currently demonstrate potential for becoming leaders within their local communities. EYL was awarded the California Golden Bell Award in 2014 for outstanding community volunteerism. She is very excited about the opportunity to pursue her doctorate in organizational leadership at the University of Massachusetts Global. She is embarking upon this great opportunity to extend her knowledge, skills and practical application as it relates to organizational leadership. As an elementary school principal, middle school assistant principal, academic advisor, classroom teacher, special educator, and program facilitator, she has developed various skills over the last 24 years that support her qualifications as a transformational educational leader. This experience coupled with the opportunity to earn a doctoral degree will assist in her endeavor of someday leading a school district as a district administrator.
