About Ni Putu Candra Dewi

Greetings! I'm Ni Putu Candra Dewi, an Indonesian human rights lawyer who recently completed my master's degree at the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Republic of Korea. I'm honored to have won the KOICA CIAT Fellowship - Gender Leadership Programme, which funded my studies. With 8 years of experience in Non-Governmental Organizations, I've focused extensively on disability issues and access to justice. Previously, I held the position of Head of Internal Affairs and Public Interest Lawyer at the Bali Legal Aid Institute (YLBHI-LBH Bali), the oldest legal aid organization in Bali, providing structural legal aid.I'm a proud co-founder of Bumi Setara, a social initiative supporting children with disabilities. Currently, I serve as the head of relationship and advocacy for this meaningful initiative. After completing my Master's Degree in 2023, I decided to elevate my human rights advocacy work to a regional level. As a Human Rights Research & Advocacy Assistant at Manushya Foundation, my primary responsibility is to contribute to the Protection & Access to Justice portfolio. In June 2023, I transitioned to an Associate role under a different portfolio: Democracy & Digital Rights, focusing on Southeast Asia, including lead the ASEAN Regional Coalition to #StopDigitalDictatorship and Southeast Asia Collaborative Policy Network, which holds big tech accountable for respecting human rights.Since 2014, I've been actively involved as a development worker in various stakeholders, including Annika Linden Centre and PUSPADI Bali. I've provided valuable assistance in numerous consultations for esteemed organizations.Beyond my dedication to law, human rights, and development, I have a strong inclination towards creative fields like film and digital culture. I've had the privilege of working as a resource person, facilitator, and moderator for discussions and talks on subjects encompassing human rights, environmental issues, gender, and inclusion. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration and welcome opportunities to work together in these dynamic domains. For business purposes, please contact me at candramertha@protonmail.com. I reserve the right to know and review anyone who cites this LinkedIn as a resource for social media content or event posters or proposals. On my own LinkedIn page, I decide on behalf of which work and issue I am willing to be present. This is non-negotiable.
