Communications AdvisorAs a member of the leadership and administrative teams of the Leduc Beaumont Devon Primary Care Network, I am responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic communications plans for the PCN. In this role, I work collaboratively with our teams and physician members to develop and disseminate program-specific communications tools. A key aspect to this role is to develop integrated, community-based strategies to ensure our stakeholders are aware of PCN programs and services. The AlbertaFindADoctor.ca website helps Albertans connect with a PCN family doctor who is accepting new patients.This work has been recognized with both an IABC Silver Leaf of Excellence Award in the Communications Management category, Community Relations and an IABC Gold Quill Award of Merit in the same category.

Co-chair of the Primary Care Network Provincial Communications Committee. This group is made up of members from the five provincial zones plus additional key stakeholders is committed to working collaboratively to build a provincial brand and cohesive voice to promote the Patient's Medical Home and PCNs.

The EdmontonAreaDocs.ca Website and Communications Committee is comprised of members from all 9 Edmonton Zone Primary Care Networks, Alberta Health Services and the Primary Care Network Program Management Office. The website was developed to address the needs of unattached patients in Edmonton and the surrounding area that are looking for a family physician. Key roles and responsibilities on this committee:• Committee member (former chair) of award winning working group.• Develop and maintain strong relationships with other members of the committee and our stakeholders.• Develop annual communications plans, media and social media plans aimed at promoting the EdmontonAreaDocs.ca website.• Create content for www.edmontonareadocs.ca website. • Built and maintain Edmontonareadocs.ca social media Facebook page.

This role initially developed through my work with the LBD PCN. The Prescription To Get Active (RxTGA) initiative was created through a partnership between the LBD PCN and the City of Leduc. Launched in Leduc in October 2011, the program has now grown to include 25 PCNs and over 110 recreation facilities across Alberta and now includes an Ontario chapter and more provincial chapters in the works.Key responsibilities include:• Develop and implement internal and external communications, media and social media plans aimed at promoting RxTGA.• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic leadership committee members, including facility representatives.• Integral member of award winning marketing and communications committee. • Media Relations. Connect requests from media to appropriate spokesperson or participant and create media releases and news article in support of the initiative. • Provide information and direction to those seeking to implement the program or become partners.• Create content for and maintain RxTGA website www.prescriptiontogetactive.com.• Built and maintain RxTGA social media Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.
