Candy specializes in technology-related intellectual property. She focuses on patent law, in particular on patent prosecutions, patent invalidations, industrial designs, mechanical and manufacturing engineering, and software-related inventions. Candy drafts and prosecutes patent and is proficient in invalidation proceedings, legal opinions, and administrative litigation proceedings. Candy studied in the United States for ten years and received her Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Following her professional studies, she worked in the industries as a technical specialist and a marketing specialist. She returned to school and received her LL.M degree in 2004. In 2000, she passed her patent bar exam in Taiwan and in 2006 her patent bar exam in the USA. After working in Lee and Li Attorneys-at-Law for almost eight years, she joined Tsai, Lee and Chen in 2004. Candy was a member of the "Patent Examination Quality Advisory Committee,” convened by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office from 2005-2018. She is also a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APPA), Taiwan Chapter, American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). She is the author of the teaching materials entitled “Practices in Drafting Design Patent Specification and Design Patent Prosecution” and published by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office. Candy speaks Mandarin and English.
