Work directly with top donor prospects to the university.Develop, administer and oversee, in conjunction with the Vice President, the budget for University Advancement. Plan, coordinate and/or administer a gift solicitation program for faculty and staff. Work in partnership with Alumni Programs, University Development and the Ball State University Foundation to conduct and assure a consistent, comprehensive and cohesive donor program such as designing and administering cultivation and solicitation programs with emeriti faculty/staff. Lead research efforts regarding major donor constituents for the Office of the President, Vice President and University Development. Devise and use consistent, accurate, and appropriate information-sharing tools for stewarding prospects and donors. Compile reports and edit materials from the Office of University Advancement such as donor reports to major endowment donors and other foundations related to grants. Compile reports and presentation materials for Vice President of University Advancement for presidential meetings such as the Board of Trustees and the Ball State University Foundation Board of Directors.
Provide secretarial support for University Advancement. Serve as office assistant maintaining supplies and inventory for the office and making recommendations for purchase of new equipment. Maintain membership roster and materials of Ball State’s National Philanthropy Council and coordinate annual meetings and events for the council. Serve as LAN Manager for University Development; act as liaison between University Development and University Computing Services; monitor computer problems and schedule service as needed. Coordinate and arrange on and off-campus events involving university personnel, volunteers, major donors, and prospective donors; secure travel and lodging reservations, equipment, catering, etc. Interview, hire, train, and supervise student assistants; coordinate and schedule work assignments for student assistants, oversee quality of projects. Research donor/prospective donor information using Advance database; compile information and produce reports. Update and maintain data in Advance database and files on major donors and prospective donors. Assist with major events; prepare invitations, track responses, prepare materials and nametags, process check requests, schedule facilities, etc. Some events I have assisted with are Fellows dinners, National Philanthropy Council annual meetings, Above and Beyond Campaign Kick-Off and Campaign Celebration, and Alumni Center Grand Opening Celebration.
