Profile bio

About Candy Jimenez-Caballero, M.A.

While earning my B.S. in Communication Studies and B.S. in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, I entered the nonprofit world to explore my passion for communications, social media, and brand management. I started my role as the Communications Assistant for the Latino Center of the Midlands part-time, while being a full-time undergraduate student. After leaving the Latino Center, I took a role as Social Media Coordinator at Tender & True and then as the Marketing Coordinator at JMISKO to learn about the role that social media has impacted communications as it pertains to businesses. Although I enjoyed my time in marketing, I returned to the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to earn my MA in Business with a specialization in Intercollegiate Athletics. During my graduate degree, I interned with Nebraska Athletics in their Life Skills department and at Long Island University as their Director of Hockey Operations. After completing my internships, I served as the Director of Communications – Athletics at the University of North Dakota for six sports teams. Out of those six, five of those were women's teams. Since then, I have shifted to teaching others about the industry in my role as an Instructor of Sport Management at Midland University. As an aspiring leader in athletic administration, I am driven to use my vast educational background and experiences to create new opportunities for student-athletes that will help them succeed in their sport, the classroom, and their life after sports. Clifton Strengths: Includer, Restorative, Strategic, Achiever, Arranger.
