I'm a kick-butt fun-loving bookkeeper. I got started in bookkeeping kind of by accident. When I was 18 and newly arrived to Honolulu, I took a job at a construction company as a receptionist. The owner's wife had a CPA company next door. She taught me to enter and print a check and I was hooked. By the time I left Hawaii five years later, with some college course work under my belt, I was handling the entire bookkeeping process through the monthly closing.I like to work with good folks and for a long period of time, I don't like skipping around. I like to be in the thick of things and be the one that has been there long enough that pretty much knows everything. This led me to open my own bookkeeping firm in 2002, which I grew to include a team of six bookkeepers. One of my longest-running and largest clients was Linux Journal. I liked working with the tight-knit team, with lots of quirky personalities and was sad when they shut their doors.I'm currently looking for a new experience (remote only, I've worked remotely for over 20 years, before it was "cool" and have a very awesome in-home office). I like people. I like to help. I think everyone is a friend until otherwise proven. And I REALLY like numbers and making those numbers make sense to YOU.I'm taking my time, to look for the best fit... could that be you?
