Through these experiences, my personal values boil down to the following:► I like to give back to others. I received 2 'Outstanding' performance evaluations, which is "reserved for only those few students who have distinguished themselves by their unique contribution or exceptional performance."Highlights of my experience include:► Co-led the review and development of key sections of the 2014 Annual Report to better conform with best practices suggested by the Public Sector Accounting Board and Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The result was an 88 page document that includes an enhanced Treasurer's Report, accomplishments, and a Statistical Review.► Co-introduced, developed, and submitted the 2014 Annual Report Highlights to the GFOA. The publication provides extracts of information from the Annual Report to help interested parties without a public finance background understand the finances of the municipality. The publication received the "Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting" from the GFOA.► Utilized technical skills in Microsoft Excel, PeopleSoft Financials, and Cognos to automate the presentation of financial information to the Finance management team, increasing the efficiency of the budget development process by over 50 hours for 2 staff. ► Worked closely with Geographic Information Services Branch to develop a dashboard to enhance financial controls and tracking capabilities of the Department. Developed using Tableau, the capabilities of the dashboard include: ● A one-page summary of the Department highlighting key trends for management users. ● The ability to "drill down" into more detail to identify specific areas of concern. ● Automation to identify areas that exceed threshold limitations for follow-up and investigation.

The result was an enhanced Treasurer's Report in the 2013 Annual Report, which received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the GFOA.► Led the review and preparation of draft budget plans for 4 out of 5 branches of the Finance Department as part of the 2015 to 2018 multi-year budget. In developing these draft budgets, I extracted and analyzed 7 years of historical financial information from PeopleSoft Financials. The result was a better informed budget that better reflected future spending needs of the Department.► Completed numerous briefing notes and presentations for the Department's policy files.
