During my graduate study, I was honored to be accepted as the grader of the Data Mining course and participated in this class as a teaching assistant. The Data Mining course is taught by Professor Wang Tong and Instructor Maryam Rahmani Moghaddam. During summer 2020, I had a data analyst intern, participating as a member of multiple group projects lead by our director Michael Altemeier. The task for the team is to develop insights from past five-year historical data about Tippie alumni. The team builds an application using python that creates a new dataset that contains the most recent information from alumni’ LinkedIn profiles directly, including the newest job title, employer, location, email, and LinkedIn URL. Then the team connects two datasets by Microsoft SQL Server and creates visuals via Tableau into four boards to show the on-time trends. I took multiple roles in each part as follows:1) Used Microsoft SQL Server to connect real-time database for keeping historical and updated datasets together2) Created visualization utilizing Tableau to show the change in alumni’s employers and location3) Wrote a Python script to clean and sort dataset and make the search engine operate automatically

American Bear Logistics (ABL) is an international logistics company. It provides a one-stop service for both traditional and E-Commerce customers. Its business covers ocean, air, land shipping, and warehousing. It operates multiple warehouse facilities, bonded warehouses, and trailers.It is a company built-in 2018. The company has had a fast-develop since 2019 due to COVID, and start to seek an effective data management system. I was the first intern in the data department. In this position, I was able to apply most of the knowledge I learned in university and took the following roles:1) Designed Excel VBA Add-In to support data collection and visualize data by PowerBI2) Created department monthly revenue dashboard and helped manager making a decision3) Generated the company’s website using WordPress

In the last semester of the Business Analytics Bachelor program, University introduced a Capstone project to the team. The project is sponsored by College Raptor Inc., a company focused on helping high school students make smarter decisions on choosing their college. College Raptor helps students to find the colleges that fit their needs based on student preferences and personal information. In order to create a more accurate model for College Raptor, the team decided to get the data from Melissa. I took the following roles during this process:1) Collected new data from two APIs (Melissa and another one) using R and Python2) Cleaned and merging the collected and old datasets3) Created storyline of visuals based on the result of our model using Tableau4) Collaborated as a data wrangler, coder, and visualizer in a group of four
