I have a unique background in graphic design and community organizing, but all of my work comes from the part of me that wants to tell stories. My creative ethos is the belief that storytelling through design is a powerful tool that can effect change. I was involved in an electoral campaign that was pioneering how to activate new voters by using cultural competence and language diversity and worked with a labor organization that represents the varied coalition identity of Asian American Pacific Islanders, which has honed my ability to make print and digital campaigns that make people with vastly different perspectives feel seen and understood. These experiences enriched my skill set and perspective, making me an invaluable asset to recreation and arts programs looking to shape culture through branding and communication. I discovered my passion for recreation programming while teaching swimming and water safety lessons to children and adults. When I'm not at work, I listen to or watch other people tell stories, mainly about science fiction, fantasy, and horror.I am interested in full-time graphic design, marketing, or program management opportunities in Austin, Texas, and beyond. This resulted in 94% agreement that swim lessons were good or excellent by participating school teachers.Tested lesson procedures created with East Communities Aquatic Coordinator to raise feedback survey satisfaction from 55% to 82% for conducting multiple lessons under tight time restrictions with consistency and improved member satisfaction.
