Engineering Manager for Facebook Live supporting 5 teams that build products to enable the best ways to experience moments and videos together in real-time.While managing a small team building Facebook Mentions, a small app for public figures to connect seamlessly and meaningfully with their fans and followers, we built out a prototype of a live video product to enable just that. Since the initial Facebook Live launch for public figures in 2015, we've opened it up to hundreds of other use cases and the team has grown a ton. But we've remained razor focused on making it easy to share the moments that matter and connect in a meaningful way around them, while creating new real-time experiences throughout the app.I love helping people challenge themselves to grow, digging deep into user research and funnel data to build the best product we can for our users and working towards elegant solutions to the technical challenges of scale and speed that are inherent in the live space.
