The Hermosa Project is a USD $1B+ greenfield development project located in southern Arizona. It comprises two base metal deposits, Taylor and Clark, and a prospective land package. Reporting to the Manager of Strategy and Performance, I led the Digital Project Delivery workstream and assisted in the study, design, and implementation of the Integrated Remote Operations Centre, Electrification, and Automation workstreams.Key Achievements: ▶︎ Spearheading the Information Services Function, and overseeing the implementation of Digital Engineering and Information Management, to enable efficient and effective collaboration, 3D model federation, and, improved information consistency across the project ecosystem. ▶︎ Led the Digital Project Delivery strategic initiative, implementing six critical systems to drive digital transformation in alignment with the Integrated Project team execution strategy, providing access to data for performance and quality validation, enabling construction simulation and immersion capabilities, and, establishing the data foundations for a next-generation mine. ▶︎ Established the Geoscience community of practice – a team of over 20 cross-functional subject matter leaders to collectively integrate how we worked and optimize the value of our drilling program to support the Taylor feasibility study and broader exploration program.

Reporting to the Greenfield Technologies Director and Study Manager, I was the key conduit between the Hermosa Project and global Technology function, leading the effort to define the technology landscape in support of the pre-feasibility study with a focus on cost-appropriate, innovative, and emerging operating technologies.Key Achievements:▶︎ Co-developed the digital strategy and innovation technology roadmap to support the complete lifecycle of the Hermosa silver, lead, and zinc mining mega project.▶︎ Led technology assessments, building partnerships with cross-industry leaders and facilitating innovation workshops to assess emerging technologies for inclusion in the Next Generation mine blueprint. ▶︎ Represented the Technology function as an embedded member of the pre-feasibility study lead team, to ensure cross-functional collaboration.

One of the world’s largest producers of silver and lead, South32 Cannington Mine is an underground mining operation located in outback North West Queensland. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, I was responsible for the end-to-end Maintenance budgeting and forecasting process – including Work Management finance simulations, coordinating reviews, and actuals reporting. Key Achievements:▶︎ Led the development and submission of all budgets and forecasts in line with finance processes for the AUD $74M+ zero-based Maintenance budget, achieving an actual accuracy of the entire maintenance budget to within 1% in FY16. ▶︎ Conducted business analysis resulting in the identification of an opportunity to save the asset $250,000 per year in additional leave liability.▶︎ Automated various work management reports increasing planner and engineer productivity by 5-hours per week.▶︎ Developed new cost & and work management metric Tableau dashboards simplifying data interpretation and increasing leadership engagement.

Reporting to the Analysis and Improvement Superintendent, I provided specialist advice, executed analysis benchmarking, and implemented improvement initiatives that enabled functional excellence and supported business priorities for continuous improvement across the value chain – including, underground mine, surface processing, port, and non-process infrastructure.Key Achievements:▶︎ Conducted business analysis and developed business cases for > AUD $600,000 of recurring yearly cost-saving initiatives.▶︎ Lead the resolution of an ongoing fault on a key machine in the processing facility - eliminating unnecessary maintenance, reducing maintenance costs, and improving overall equipment effectiveness.▶︎ Developed insights from the aggregation of data from systems such as the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, Dome, Ampla, and Historian to analyze performance and facilitate the elimination of operational defects.

Reporting to the Fixed Plant Superintendent, I supervised the electrical, instrumentation, and communications technician fixed plant execution team’s work activities in compliance with the weekly schedule, operating standards, procedures, work instructions, and defined processes to achieve optimal business outcomes and performance.Key Achievements: ▶︎ Promoted to Fixed Plant Electrical Supervisor managing a trade team of 10 in the safe execution of underground and surface maintenance operations with 0 recordable injuries.
