I am a CPA who helps nonprofits communicate the current financial and organizational picture and what it can look like by: streamlining processes, improving financial and impact reporting to all parties, building relationships, managing risks, innovating, and providing leadership development. I started my nonprofit career during grad school in Detroit where I found my passion and learned many valuable lessons in the nonprofit world. Growing an organization from 6 staff to 75+ and impacting tens of thousands in need in multiple states gave me an understanding of each department and how they interconnect to the mission. I then learned the interconnection of the external parties through donors, galas, board members, CEOs, politicians, press, professional groups, grassroots partners, volunteers, and the community in need. Attentiveness along with a deep understanding of the big picture and a pragmatic approach allow me to provide improvements for all parties as well as seeing issues before they arise. Relationship building and collaboration also plays a big role in my approach.
