Research Title: Smart 3D Printable Hydrogels for next generation Biomedical Devices (HYDROPRINT3D)Joint project between Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel)Main research activities:- Development of novel ready-to-use water-based polymeric formulations to be employed as photocurable resins in stereolithography;- Fabrication of biocompatible 3D-printed hydrogels with complex shapes and smart properties, such as stimuli-responsive behavior and/or self-repairing abilities;- Characterization and tuning of the resin to manufacture 4D printable biomedical devices;- Evaluation of the state-of-the-art in the field of self-healing materials and selection of the most efficient systems to meet specific requirements;- Selection of the most suited and/or customization of existing SLA/DLP printer to meet the printing requirements of the resin;- 3D desing of self-standing complex architectures made of soft matter.
