A few things I have learned over the past 30 years or so:1. Good advise: "Take out the emotion/pride and don't be afraid to walk away from a bad deal" (Mark Bahr) 2. Good advise: "If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got" (Steven Camposano)3. A lesson: Sales: "This is what it is. This is what it does. This is what it does for you! And then SHUT UP!" (Steven Camposano)4. A discovery: "If you find something you love to do you'll never work a day in your life" is true.5. A Fact: Passion and knowledge ensure success.For the last 30 years of my professional life I was immersed in a beachside hotel hospitality environment as a Watersports vendor. My education on this subject comes from my three views: The "Sub-contractor-Vendor" side where myself and staff excessively became the hotel customer's "scapegoat" for all that went wrong from a bad check-in experience to not getting the room they wanted to feeling accosted and insulted by an additional "charge" for chairs & umbrellas. As a Fly-on-the-wall listening to what my some of my Capt Ron's guests say to other Capt Ron's guests about the resorts they are staying at and most importantly, their complaints about them. Example: "are you kidding me? I just paid $400 for my room and now you want me to pay for chairs". Not to mention: parking, Wifi and everything else that nickel and dimes a customer to death. And finally, as a "Customer". Most recently, I have gathered customer data from Capt Ron's Inc. and my analysis has answered questions about our visitors most businesses never even thought to ask! I've developed and implemented the tools to "Snapshot" a businesses and even a given TA markets health and by doing so I can literally find the pulse of any TA Market I choose.The conclusions/facts I have drawn from these real world experiences can be applied worldwide and I have successfully and dynamically applied these theories to my current business and personal lives.
