Mark also lead a challenging, very public and high profile cross-border litigation when he owned The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Europe. A true highlight of Mark’s time as Chairman was crewing a 5-day sailing challenge with a novice group of both hearing, hard of hearing and deaf young adults to becoming the 40.7 European Sailing Champions. This was a monumental task against a formidable opponent that lasted many years and evolved in ways one could never have imagined. The litigation concluded with the award of substantial damages to be paid by the defaulting party. Mark gained a significant amount of knowledge and experience in law, cross border jurisdictional ligation, diplomatic procurement, asset recovery and tactical litigation against superior strength parties. -
