An experienced Merchant Navy Officer & all-round Manager having progressed to the rank of Master possessing all round ship management skills together with strong organisational and administrative capabilities. Considerable experience attained in the offshore supply / AHTS sector of the industry coupled with varied ship handling experience using a wide variety of propulsion and control systems including Fixed pitch & CP Propellors, Azipull, Voith-Schneider & Schottel and in particular long-term experience in Dynamic Positioning.Also 6 years' experience in Ro-Pax vessels including Hi Speed Craft.Having reached my 60's I chose to terminate my seagoing career as a DP2 PSV Master (MV HERMIT VIKING) operating in the North Sea as a result of having made the decision to leave the North Sea and find work opportunities that allowed me to remain at home in future. Since then having done some other local work I have now decided to retire but am still willing to consider some part time local work up tp 20 hours per week.
