The underlying expectation is that all duties are carried out in compliance with the Company Operational Discipline expectations and HSE requirements. When considering assignment of duties for the Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator, the Supervisor and the Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator will apply the rules of task planning to determine if the assigned role is appropriate. This means confirming that the individuals involved have the knowledge, skills, and experience to carry out the task, and the task plan complies with policy before they are authorized to proceed.

- Monitor all DP system parameters including weather, current etc.- In-depth knowledge of the DP-system and its positioning systems (DGPS & acoustics)- Familiarization with Rig Operations Manual, equipment manuals and regulations- Plan and prepare upcoming operations in detail, ensuring time effectiveness- Maintain good two-way communication with key personnel- Reports all known problems, even if minor, to rig management- Change the heading of the rig as required for safe operations- Update all marine navigation publications and navigational charts- Monitor and track marine traffic within close proximity- Establish radio contact with approaching vessels- Ensure awareness of all Noble policies and procedures- Brief supervisor on all vessel ongoing or anticipated activity in the immediate area- Request all vessel intentions prior to granting permission to enter the rig’s 500m zone- Officer of the Watch when on tour- Voyage planning- In charge of navigation and Watch Officer’s duties during transit- Train and mentor trainee DP Operators (develop onboard training program)- Upkeep and use of dedicated checks list and logs- Administrative tasks are completed timely and accurately- Maintaining an up-to-date file system and orderly office- Operate and monitor the DP System to maintain the rig over the well or within anacceptable range of its target position- Ensure that the DP system is repaired if required and pre-tested between well locationsand is in 100% operational condition prior to arriving on location
