Work within Crowley Petroleum Services as a Port Captain responsible for petroleum trade ships and ATB vessels operating within the United States. This is an administrative and support role. Duties include planning, storing oversight, cargo, navigation and regulatory support, as well as problem mitigation and resolution. Attendance upon vessels is made for regulatory, SIRE/BIRE inspections, internal and external audits, repairs and cargo operations assistance. Provide oversight and direction regarding operations and maintenance programs to ensure efficient operations on board the vessels that exceed industry and regulatory requirements.

Sail with MEBA as Master, Chief Mate, Second Mate, and Third Mate on board LNGRV (Exmar) crude oil, and product tankers (Apex Marine, Waters Marine) OBO’s (UltraMar) LNG carriers (Energy Transportation Corporation, ProNav) and Ro- Ro’s (Marine Carriers, Keystone, and MTL) Car Carriers ( Liberty Maritime and Maersk Limited) and military chartered vessels carrying ordnance, explosives, chemical, nuclear, and biological agents/ weapons. Most sailing time was accrued as Chief Officer. Duties include management, personnel management, navigation, safety and training, safety equipment maintenance, vessel maintenance, budgeting, requisitioning, personnel assignments, overtime management and assignment, security, and cargo operations.

Work aboard LNGRV as deck officer including safety, navigation, and cargo officer. Sail on board Liquid Natural Gas Regasification Vessels. In charge of regasification process; Start with liquid natural gas at (-) 162 C @atmospheric pressure and pressurize to 100 bar via 6600 V cryogenic pumps, heat, vaporize, dope, odorize, and deliver Gaseous Natural Gas to a distribution pipeline or purchasing facility. Work closely with engine department while bringing trains on and offline to maintain very close tolerances for pressure, temperature, BTU content and volume of gas delivered per 24 hour period. Simultaneously load LNG while delivering GNG. Operated MAPS (DP system) and APL system for location, retrieval, and connection to Submerged Turret Loading Buoy. PIC for ship to ship operations both underway and alongside. Ship to ship evolutions included loading (during simultaneous regasification operation) and discharging to other vessel. Worked with multinational officers and crew. Utilized Honeywell automation system and interface, NS5, Safenet, Task Assistant, and DNV Navigator management and document programs.

DPO observer/trainee - Stood DPO watches on the MODU Maersk Developer and learned operations and systems. Earned observer time required to proceed to advanced DPO course.
